Ingredients Comparison

Balance of Nature has been around for a long time, since 1997 in fact. Simply Nature’s Pledge is the newer competitor with similar packaging and many of the same whole foods on the supplement facts panel. Which product has the better ingredients though?

Which Ingredient List is Better?

Simply Nature’s Pledge is the easier nutritional facts label to assess. That’s because they list their vegetables and fruit in the conventional format of by weight first.

Given this, a customer should expect the first few additions in the Maintain, Protect and Repair blends to be the most predominant in the Simply Fruits and Simply Veggies formulas.

By comparison, Balance of Nature lists the ingredients in their Fruits & Veggies product alphabetically. This is unhelpful for customers as it’s unclear which whole foods are the most common within the capsules.

For instance, there is no way to tell if the Fruits pills are mainly cheaper apple, banana and orange, with much smaller amounts of the healthier and more expensive, cranberry, blueberry and strawberry.

Overall, Simply Nature’s Pledge looks superior to Balance of Nature nutritionally. This is true both in the range of produce and in the better ingredients listed on the Simply Fruits and Simply Veggies labels.balance and nature bottles

Balance of Nature’s Fruits & Veggies has some good additions, like blueberry, cranberry, broccoli, wheatgrass, kale and shiitake mushrooms, but almost all of them can also be found in Simply Nature’s Pledge.

Unfortunately, Balance of Nature also contains quite a few common and less nutrient-rich fruit and veggies, such as apple, banana, orange, tomato and onion. There’s also the strange addition of raw soybean in the Veggies formula when most supplements state on their label they are soy-free.

There’s a more detailed analysis of the nutrition in Balance of Nature here, including vitamins, minerals, carbs, calories, if it helps with weight loss and how it compares to a multivitamin.

Pros and Cons of Simply Fruits and Simply Veggies

Pros

  1. Wide range of nutritious fruits and vegetables. Standouts include elderberry, olive leaf, grape seed, pomegranate, green tea, bilberry, wild blueberry, cranberry, broccoli, kale and shiitake mushroom.
  2. Produce is locally sourced and grown in the United States. The company also notes that its products are manufactured in an FDA-registered facility.
  3. Much cheaper here on their Amazon listing than Fruits & Veggies by Balance of Nature for the same 180 capsules.

Cons

  1. Simply Fruits and Veggies contains some average additions that are commonly eaten, such as apple, banana, orange and tomato.
  2. While less costly in a direct comparison with Balance of Nature, this whole food supplement is still more than any of the comparable products and much cheaper alternatives here.

Balance of Nature Fruits & Veggies Pros and Cons

Pros

  1. There are some healthy vegetables and fruits in the Balance of Nature formula, like blueberry, cranberry, broccoli, wheatgrass, kale, spinach and shiitake mushroom.

Cons

Is There a Cheaper Alternative to Simply Nature’s Pledge and Balance of Nature?

While it’s less than Balance of Nature, Simply Fruits and Veggies isn’t a budget whole food supplement, especially compared to newer competitors in 2026.

Double Wood Daily Fruit and Veggies has the same 180 capsules and an ingredients list packed with superfoods, such as organic kale, spirulina, chlorella, milk thistle, grapeseed, Siberian ginseng, acai, goji berry and blueberry.

It easily beats Balance of Nature’s Fruits & Veggies and is objectively healthier than Simply Nature’s Pledge. Despite this, it’s 3 times cheaper than Simply Fruits and Veggies here on the company’s website with no delivery charges within the USA.

Cost Comparison

Simply Nature’s Pledge currently costs $59.95, both on the company’s website and on Amazon for the combination 2-pack of Simply Fruits and Simply Veggies. There are 90 capsules in each container and, at the recommended 6 capsule daily dose, they last for 30 days.

Balance of Nature also contains 90 capsules in both the Fruits and the Veggies vitamins and provides a month-long supply. By comparison, their retail price is $89.95 on both their own website and Amazon.

You can get it for less on the company’s website if you ‘Subscribe & Save’ to sign up for monthly shipping. Be aware though that some former customers complain about difficulties canceling this subscription once they signed up for it.

At one-off pricing of $59.95 for Simply Nature’s Pledge versus Balance of Nature’s $89.95, the Simply Fruits and Veggies product is better value. It’s $30 less for healthier ingredients and the same 180 capsules.SSimply Nature's Promise containers

Where to Get Simply Fruits and Veggies and Balance of Nature?

Simply Nature’s Pledge is available here on their Amazon page and on simplynaturespledge.com. You can also find it at Walmart for a higher price. I couldn’t find Simply Fruits and Veggies at Costco, GNC, Sam’s Club, Target, Walgreens or CVS in 2026.

Balance of Nature is only available on the company’s own website and on Walmart and Amazon. You cannot buy Fruits & Veggies capsules at Costco, GNC, Walgreens, Target, CVS or Sam’s Club.

Simply Fruits and Veggies Side Effects

  • While not commonly reported, the Simply Veggies blend contains quite a few cruciferous vegetables that can cause an upset stomach for some people.
  • Garlic, onion and cayenne pepper can give some people heartburn, even in small amounts, and a few customers complain about this in feedback on the product.

Balance of Nature Fruits & Veggies Side Effects

  • The Veggies pills have soybean as an ingredient. People with a soy allergy should avoid Balance of Nature.
  • Some of the vegetables in the Veggies supplement may cause digestive problems for sensitive people.
  • As the more popular product, Balance of Nature does have more negative reviews complaining about heartburn after taking it. This is usually only a problem if the capsules are taken on an empty stomach.Simple fruit and veggie pills in hand

Simply Fruits and Veggies Versus Balance of Nature: The Verdict

Simply Nature’s Pledge have clearly copied Balance of Nature with their Simply Fruits and Veggies vitamins. The packaging is very similar and their ingredient lists covers almost all of the best additions in the more established Fruits & Veggies product.

I have no problem with that personally. I’m here to assess the nutritional benefits and pros and cons of specific superfood supplements, not the legality or morality of company practices.

With over 10 years of experience researching superfoods, it’s my opinion that Simply Nature’s Pledge is a superior product to Balance of Nature. It’s also $30 less for exactly the same dosage and monthly supply.

If Balance of Nature wants to compete with Simply Fruits and Veggies they should consider lowering their price and improving their formula. Until then, Simply Nature’s Pledge is the simple choice in a direct one on one comparison.

That said, Double Wood Daily Fruit and Veggies is even better value at $70 less for a much healthier range of superfoods. Unlike Balance of Nature, they have certificates of product safety testing shown here on their website and complimentary delivery within the USA.

You can compare Nature’s Sustenance Fruits and Greens, new Earth Energy Fruits & Veggies and the popular Balance of Nature copy Superfood MD here as well.

It’s also well worth considering these equivalent products and cheaper alternatives to both Balance of Nature and Simply Nature’s Pledge. Thank you for reading and please let me know what you think in the comments.

I am curious. Is Double Wood actually better since it has only 3 capsules, or is it a better price?
