Superbeets vs Balance of Nature: Which is Better for You?

Super Beets pills tub on whiteThe American nutritional brand Humann makes a range of popular supplements called SuperBeets. They are available as capsules, chewables and as powders. Some readers asked me how SuperBeets compares with Balance of Nature and which one is better to take.

Humann’s SuperBeets Heart Capsules are the most similar to Balance of Nature’s Fruits & Veggies so I’ll focus on those ahead. There’s much more detail on other SuperBeets products here.

With this guide you can quickly compare ingredients, pros and cons, potential benefits and precautions, monthly costs and the main differences between SuperBeets and Balance of Nature.

What are SuperBeets Heart Capsules by Humann?

SuperBeets is a dietary supplement made from beetroot powder and grape seed extract. Its manufacturer Humann says it’s designed to support cardiovascular health by increasing nitric oxide production. They also promote it as a natural way to boost your energy without caffeine.

Each 3-capsule serving has 1,000 mg of powdered beets and 150 mg of grape seed extract. This product is sold in 90 or 180-pill bottles and will last you for 1 or 2 months when taken as directed. The formula is non-GMO, caffeine-free and does not include sweeteners or synthetic ingredients.

What is Balance of Nature Fruits & Veggies?

Unlike SuperBeets, Balance of Nature contains 31 different vegetables and fruits that have been freeze-dried, powdered and blended together. There’s a detailed breakdown of Balance of Nature Nutrition Facts here.

This product is sold in twin containers with 90 capsules in each, 180 in total. It’s recommended to take 6 a day for a 30-day supply.

The Balance of Nature company says their Fruits & Veggies product is made from non-GMO produce, is gluten-free, and has no added sugar, fillers, colorings or chemical additives. They also say it’s third-party tested, though there’s no proof of this that I could find on their website.

Ingredients Comparison

SuperBeets Capsules

Humann’s SuperBeets pills have a simple ingredients list: 1,000 mg of powdered beetroot and 150 mg of grape seed extract in each 3-pill daily dose. If you’re looking for a supplement to provide the well-researched nutritional benefits of beets and grape seed extract, then this product provides it.

These benefits include:

  • Improved Circulation: The nitrates in SuperBeets can support heart health by increasing nitric oxide production. This helps relax and dilate your blood vessels, improving circulation and potentially lowering blood pressure. This positive effect is considered beneficial for maintaining healthy cardiovascular function.
  • Increased Energy: This same nitric oxide increase can enhance blood flow and oxygen delivery to both your muscles and your brain. This may result in a natural energy boost, and Humann markets SuperBeets as an alternative to caffeine.
  • Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Beetroot powder is high in potent antioxidants called betalains. It also contains flavonoids like kaempferol and rhamnetin. These beneficial polyphenolic compounds protect your body’s cells from oxidative stress and can reduce inflammation caused by free radical damage.

Balance of Nature

By comparison, Balance of Nature provides a wider range of antioxidants, flavonoids and other nutrients from its 31 different vegetables, greens, fruits and berries. Keep in mind though that the amounts per capsule would be significantly smaller due to the much lower concentration per ingredient.BalanceofNature Fruits panel

Common positive feedback in customer reviews for Fruits & Veggies includes people saying they experienced more energy, had better digestive health, and found it easier to get to sleep when they took these veggie pills. These benefits would be more apparent in people whose diets are low in fresh fruit and vegetables.

Comparing Monthly Costs

Balance of Nature Fruits & Veggies costs $89.95 at Walmart, Amazon and on their website balanceofnature.com. That works out to $2.99 a day. It’s an expensive supplement for what you get (all those Fox News ads can’t be cheap) and there are many Balance of Nature Substitutes here for much less.

You can get Humann’s beetroot supplement for $24.95 in the 90-capsule version or $39.95 for the 180-caps container here on their popular Amazon storefront. That works out to 83 cents a day with the smaller tub or 66 cents a day with the larger option.

This brand is also available in many well-known retail stores like Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Target, Sam’s Club and Kroger, but some of these outlets I checked only stocked SuperBeets powder and their sugary Heart Chews and gummies.

Potential Precautions with SuperBeets

  1. Beet powder is a concentrated source of nitrates and could negatively interact with certain prescriptions, particularly ones for ‘bedroom performance’ or blood pressure. Consult your physician before using this product if you are taking anything like this.
  2. People with kidney issues or gout should check with their doctor before taking powdered beetroot supplements due to their high oxalate content.
  3. While not in any way dangerous, it’s worth being aware that you may experience red-colored stools or urine when taking SuperBeets. This effect is known as beeturia and is harmless but can be concerning the first time you see it.

Balance of Nature Precautions

  1. The main precaution with Balance of Nature is for people with a soy allergy since the Veggies product contains raw soybean. Many people like myself want to avoid soybeans due to their anti-nutrients and it’s a strange ingredient to add to a health supplement.
  2. There is also a small amount of powdered grapefruit in the Fruits pills. Your doctor may advise you to avoid grapefruit if you are on certain prescriptions due to potential interactions.
  3. Some Balance of Nature customers complain about veggie burps, heartburn and an upset stomach when they take Fruits & Veggies. This side effect can usually be avoided by taking it with or just after a meal, rather than on an empty stomach.BalanceofNature Veggies panel

Pros and Cons of SuperBeets

Pros

  1. This supplement focuses on only 2 ingredients, powdered beets and grape seed extract, and delivers a reasonable dose of each in its recommended 3 capsules a day. It’s also non-GMO, gluten-free, has zero sugar and is made in a GMP-certified facility in the USA.
  2. Potential benefits of taking beet powder and grape seed extract include better circulatory functioning, increased energy, antioxidant protection and anti-inflammatory effects.
  3. Much cheaper than Balance of Nature here on the brand’s Amazon store with positive consumer feedback on effectiveness and a 4.5 star rating from close to 10,000 reviews.
  4. Humann, the company behind SuperBeets, has well-credentialed doctors and cardiovascular experts on its Science Advisory Board. The brand has also invested in research studies to back up claims that its products boost nitric oxide production.

Cons

  1. These pills contain the fillers tricalcium phosphate, magnesium stearate and silica. They are also not made from organic beets, so pesticide residue could be a concern.
  2. Talk to your physician before taking this product if you are on blood pressure or nitric oxide-boosting prescriptions. People with kidney issues or gout should also avoid using powdered beetroot supplements due to their high oxalate content.
  3. While SuperBeets is much cheaper than Balance of Nature, it’s still more expensive than similar competitors. You can get better organic beet supplements for much less in 2026.

Pros and Cons of Balance of Nature

Pros

  1. Balance of Nature Veggies has nutritious greens like wheatgrass, kale, spinach and broccoli, as well as garlic, cayenne pepper and shiitake mushrooms. The Fruits pills have blueberry, cranberry, raspberry, aloe vera and papaya as some of their better ingredients.
  2. According to the manufacturer, all of the produce used in this whole food supplement is picked at peak ripeness and freeze-dried to preserve nutrition. They also say it’s non-GMO, gluten-free and has no added sugar, fillers or additives.

Cons

  1. Balance of Nature Veggies pills have raw soybean as an ingredient. This is a strange addition to a nutritional product since many customers want to avoid it and most supplement companies go out of their way to declare their products soy-free.
  2. Fruits & Veggies contains quite a few commonly eaten foods like grape, apple and banana. While these are healthy, they are not as high in nutrients as true superfoods.
  3. Balance of Nature is expensive at $89.95 for a month-long supply, compared to $39.95 for SuperBeets capsules by Humann. There are many Super Fruit and Veggie Supplements here that are both significantly cheaper and objectively healthier.

Balance of Nature vs SuperBeets: The Verdict

While Balance of Nature does contain a much wider variety of ingredients, it’s expensive and lacks the specific cardiovascular benefits of Humann’s more focused formula.

In a direct comparison, I’d go with SuperBeets over Balance of Nature. It’s $50 less for the same 180 capsules here on Amazon with a strong 4.5 rating from nearly 10,000 customer reviews.
